Utpal Das has been a prominent face in the Assamese film industry for almost a decade now. He has appeared in numerous Assamese movies rising to and consolidating his
superstardom status with each new project. With a face and a smile that lights up millions of hearts Utpal is the unquestionable darling of moviegoers across all sections
of the population. Utpal started his acting career in 2005 with the Assamese movie Ringa Ringa Mon which went on to become a massive success primarily due to its music and songs. Some of his
most notable releases since then are Uroniya Mon (2007), Junaki Mon (2008), Janmoni (2008), Abhimani Mon (2009), Bohagot Birinar Biya (2010), Moromjaan (2011), Raamdhenu (2011), Rowd (2012), Durjon (2013).
The release of Raamdhenu in 2011, in fact, marked a revival of the Assamese film industry. Being one of the highest grossers after a long period of time the movie sealed
Utpal’s superstardom status and credibility as an actor and paved the way for major lead roles in many big budget releases subsequently. Utpal was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor Male – Filmfare Awards East for his role in Durjon. Utpal has lately carved his presence in the Assamese Television industry too. He is now associated with four mega serials, namely Niyoror Phool (News Live Channel), Anuradha (News Live Channel), Tumi Dusokute Kajol Loley (Rang Channel), Moromor Anuradha (Rengoni Channel). Utpal was also associated with the mobile theatre group Brindaban Theatre for the year 2013-2014, doing shows across the length and breadth of Assam.

Personal Info

Utpal Das was born on 14 december, 1986 to Mr Gokul Chandra Das and Mrs. Bibha Das in Guwahati, Assam. Utpal Das, did his primary schooling from Blue Bells School, Gurgaon, Haryana and later shifted to Guwahati to continue his primary schooling from Pragjyotish English Medium High School till class 6 after which he moved to Faculty Higher Secondary School to complete high school. He went on to complete his bachelors degree in Management from Gauhati Commerce College.
